Art Show!

We had our Art Show at school last week! Francie got a third place ribbon for the K3class!! She was so happy and I was so proud of her! She painted a picture of her house! She said her favorite thing about her house is "the picture frames and daddy to be home!"

Will painted a snowman decoration- I will definitly be using at Christmas! I love snowmen!















Other big news: Will lost his other front tooth!

The Best Day!!

This was a fantastic Mother's Day!! It started on Friday- Will's class had a Mother's Day Luncheon!! It was so sweet and loving!! Each first grader made their mom a picture frame magnet! They had us a rose and the children made our plates and served us! Also, the highlight of the luncheon is when each child reads a love note to their mom on stage! They also drew a picture of their mom!! I always think Will is so big- but when you see and hear he and his friends read their little love notes to their mom you realize that they're still little (which I am completely glad about)!! Will wrote about how he liked me because "I make him proud!!" Too Cute!! It was really so special- I will treasure that time with Will forever!!













Then on Saturday morning my fam gave me some much needed "Me" time!! I went to get my toes done- which was so luxurious!! Always a mom favorite!! After that we had a picnic at Star Lake and fed the geese!! My sweet kiddos got me ferns and flowers for the front porch and a beautiful wreath made of lavender!! I love it and the porch was needing some love too!














Sunday we went to my sisters house to celebrate with my mom!! We just ate and laughed and laughed and ate!! Dinner at Birki's house closed out the Mother's Day weekend!! It was a wonderful time!! This weekend made me remember how blessed I am to have such a loving family!













Mom, thanks for all you have done and continue to do for me!! You are the best mom anyone could have and my goal is to one day be as great as you!! I love you for always being there for me and for your encouragement and smiles!! You are a light!! So I'm taking this chance to say that I had the Best Day with you yesterday!! I love you!

Simple is Best!

"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. We have a mommy robin who built a nest and laid eggs in our lamp post in our front yard!! The eggs hatched a couple of weeks ago! The highlight of our days has been watching this mommy feed her babies!! It is the sweetest thing I have ever seen! We have been sitting on the front porch and enjoying this wonderful creation God has made! They seem to have changed so much in such a short time! I know they will be leaving the nest soon!! I will miss them! Sometimes the simplest things in life are the best!

Snow Day!!

Today was so awesome! We woke up to peek outside and see snow covering everything- it made my heart skip a beat! It was like I was in elementary school again! We had a wonderful day- we ate a yummy big breakfast and put on lots of layers to go play in the snow!! It was fun! Will loved the snow, he threw snowballs and made snow angels. Francie, on the other hand, enjoyed the snow, but not the cold!
It is the second snow we have had in our house! I still love our house so much! Especially the huge fire place! It was nice to come in to warm up by the fire!!

I wish that we wouldn't have to go to school tomorrow! I sure could use an extra stay home day!

February!!

Well, I am glad it's over! February was kind of a wild month for us!! I had strep throat then migraines! I had never really had a headache like that-it was awful, I thought I was having an anyurism!! I had to get three shots in one week!! It was terrible and then it was Will's turn! He got the flu! They checked him for strep- it was negative, but the fever never quit and he got to feeling worse! Clint takes him back and it's the flu!! But it is too late now to give him anything, so he just had to ride it out- Poor guy!


Valentine's Day was really special this year!! It was one of the best ones we have had in a long time! Clint's school did a drawing for a dinner for two at The Club and we won!! I was so shocked! I never win anything! It was wonderful- so fun and everything was delicious!!


The month ended on a good note- we went to an Alabama Hockey game with Daniel, Traci, Seth and Grant!! It was great!!

Happy New Year!!

I can't believe it is 2009!! I'm sorry I am just now wishing a Happy New Year!! I was just living it up for a couple of weeks!! It was fantastic! Then before I knew it, it was time to get going again- I haven't caught my breath yet!

So Far:
1. I have been completely obsessed with the Twilight Series! I love it!! I read all four books in a week, saw the movie, got the soundtrack, pre-ordered the DVD, and re-read the first two books! OCD- it runs in our family!

2. Francie got her first hair cut!! I can't believe I did it! I was just getting so long and stringy! It was sad though, all those beautiful, golden curls lying in the floor! She is still so cute!!





3. Will turned seven years old!!! I cannot believe that my first born son is 7!! It makes me feel soooo old! He has been such a blessing in my life! He just makes my heart sing!

3. His laugh- it's contagious!
4. His eyes
5. His perfect little nose- with freckles!
6. His excitement for life!!
7. He is a "defender"- he isn't afraid to stand up for those he loves!

Merry Christmas Eve!!

"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Is. 9:6)

The joy of Christmas has filled my heart! It is an answered prayer! The past few years seemed to have sucked the magic and fun out of the holidays- but praise God His joy, the joy of His Son's birth has returned to me the true meaning of Christmas this year! I am so thankful!! I am humbled by His love and sacrifice!! I am no longer a Scrooge or Grinch- my heart has grown three sizes, because I made room for Jesus!!
